I can't be the only woman who's irritated at this sudden "outrage" at sexual harassment and abuse in schools? It's been going on for eons. The government's Women & Equalities Committee reported back in 2016 how widespread it was, and nothing seems to have been done. There were supposed to be lessons about consent for pupils over 11, but because it was left up to individual schools, nothing happened. (That was often because of lack of funding or training, btw).
Anyway, obviously I'm glad that there is an outcry now, but blimey - why are so many people shocked?

Because they've not had to think about it (unless you are the parent of a teen, or have young adult DC, why would you even have heard of it?)

Because the MSM bothered to cover it thus tine.

But it won't, unfortunately, be the impetus for change that it should be, because it has been successfully 'othered' as a private school issue.
