DT or Art GCSE ? Feedback and experience please !!!

Hi all,

Please can I have feedback for art GCSE (eduqas) against DT GCSE (OCR)

DC is trying to decide which on to take for GCSE !

DS ended up doing art. While he's good at that, the sheer level of course work and writing involved has taken him by surprise. Am sure DT is similar?

Best way forward is to speak to the teachers to understand exactly what the courses the school offers look like?

My daughter did art, but it wasn't an either or choice, she never considered DT.
I don't think there's any more work than other subjects, unless people are assuming it will have less than others and are consequently surprised. And people create at different speeds, just as some find essay writing easier than others.
They are quite different subjects though so what does your child enjoy?

I think DC will be going for Art GCSE, the sudden interest for DT was mainly driven as perceived more useful (and a cover art teacher that is not liked)
we have told DC to really go with the preferred/most enjoyed subject, as DC has already another 9/10 useful subjects !!!

any tips specfic to art gcse welcome though !
