I've just discovered that DD's school didn't break up yesterday, but in fact go on until Thursday. ShockBlush

To be fair, DD hasn't been in school or attending lessons or actually doing any schoolwork bar 2 hrs tutoring per week, and I've been all over the place, but still...

The knock on effect is there is one less week next half term which is when we are hoping DD will get some assessments done to get some GCSE grades.

(It does explain why they aren't giving minimum grades until next week which I thought was strange being the middle of the holidays, and also why no one from school has contacted me re arrangements for assessments.)

Why didn't any of you tell me?? Hmm

I've also got this wrong, but the other way round. I thought they had another full week, and then broke up some time after that. There last day is actually WEDNESDAY!! FFS

Err we broke up last Wednesday here...

TeenMinusTests · 27/03/2021 09:12

Chequer Sorry the title should have read 'DD has another week of term' or 'Our school has another week'.

I should also have put LIGHTHEARTED in the title.

There's a lot of difference in term dates for Easter this year.
This one is on you OP.

I know it's on me. Smile
I'm usually the person others go to to check this kind of stuff.
But DD's MH has seriously impacted me and I'm only now finally back to having even occasional days when I feel even slightly 'normal'.

One of our local schools has their year 11 & 13 pupils in throughout the holidays, the have already started assessments and carrying on until the end of May 😳

My DS' school broke up on Friday as planned but are going back a week early on the 12th - I think for exam years to benefit. An unwelcome consequence of this is there are some sports things they will miss during that week and they break up a week early for summer 😬😬

bonbonours · 27/03/2021 14:48

Ours don't break up til next Thursday either.

dementedpixie · 27/03/2021 14:49

Our school (Scotland) finishes up on Thursday. Back then 19th when hopefully they can actually attend school

Tomnooktoldmeto · 27/03/2021 20:56

I have one who broke up this week for 2 weeks and and another that doesn’t break up till next week for 2 weeks

Separate schools different authorities, it happens each year

I got this wrong too! I'd been saying 'last week, you can have a nice rest', then I had to say they had another week. It did not go down well!
