Accepting Sixth form offers: what is the done thing?

Do people tend to accept all sixth form offers that are received and then choose nearer to the time based on result outcomes? Does this differ if the offers are from schools rather than colleges? I wouldn’t want to mess around with a school at this time. If there is no intention of going there unless things go really wrong Shd we accept anyway? Or do you just accept the one you want? Grateful for advice pls.

I understood it was normal to accept multiple offers and choose once results are out

With the 6th form colleges here in Hants it is perfectly normal to accept all offers, then perhaps drop some after taster days in July, and finally accept after results when you go to register.

I was wondering the same...we have now accepted a place at a school and at a college as there is no way of knowing whether my DS will meet the entry requirements for the college. My DS's friends have also accepted multiple places, so looks like it is common.

Yes accept everything you are remotely interested in.

Ok. Thank you. One is her current school which she is least likely to go to so I didn’t want to mess them about. But it sounds like they would expect a degree of over accepting

Yup we never know who's going to turn up in September. Really irritating

Doesn’t feel right somehow @hedgehogger1
