Hello, I'm trying to make sense of our options for independent secondary schools in and around Wilmslow. And I'm struggling. Which independent secondary schools do Wilmslow kids go to? I would like him to have some colleagues that are Wilmslow based so they can get together after school. Thank you.

Not lived in the NW for many years but 20+ years ago, most of them went to the Manchester independents: MGS, WGS, MHSG & William Hulme, although WH is now a comp I believe. There were direct buses to all of those from Wilmslow. One friend's mum taught at Mount Carmel, which is in Alderley which is meant to be good.

I've just had a look at the Destinations section of The Ryleys School website (also Alderley) and there are other schools named like Kings in Macclesfield too.

Look at the bus stops early in the morning or around 4.30-5pm and see what uniforms kids are wearing. That should give you an idea.

Is there an independent secondary in Wilmslow?

I went to one of the schools mentioned above, loads of my peers lived in Wilmslow. I think you’d be safe with any of the south Manchester indies.
