Paid Deposit - not heard back?

We’ve accepted a place at independent school for DS, filled form and paid deposit. Posted forms recorded delivery and they were delivered and signed for this morning. Sent email Wednesday to confirm everything but heard nothing back. Have definitely paid deposit to correct account, paid that two days ago as well.

Deadline for acceptance is 4pm today. Should I expect to hear anything? DS is in state school so not sure of normal procedure. Would you relax now knowing school place was secured or chase a confirmation? I know they still have a waiting list and don’t want to harass them but am a bit paranoid after originally getting WL and no other offers!!

Presumably they've made the offer. And you have accepted (email and forms), so its accepted.

It’s probably fine but I would definitely call them.

I would have expected a same day/24-48hr acknowledgement from the registrar that your place is held, acceptance acknowledged.

Admins team is possibly busy with return to school preparations for Monday. Try calling the office?

Given you emailed and paid correctly and paired and have evidence of all this I'm sure it's fine.
However for your peace of mind you can ring.....too late now if you didn't do it before they went home, but can do it on Monday. It will be fine and with all your evidence, even if some bizarre multi-layered disaster had struck, they will honour it.

A letter was sent from our school to those joining later in the year but it was merely a "holding letter" stating that we were dealing with return to school and assessing grades at present but that we would be in touch shortly regarding induction and familiarisation days.

Thank you, hopefully we’ll receive a holding letter by Monday, if not I’ll give them a call to confirm. Am sure it’s fine, going through this process while in lockdown has left me with anxiety!

I'm just trying to think when we git a 'we are happy X is joining us' email!
If deadline was 4pm on a Friday they may wait and not send anything out until Monday once they have made sure they have all places filled and send out a blanket email - though i was chased by one school several days before the deadline so they could offer the place to someone on the waiting list if we were declining.
As long as you know the money went through I'm sure it will be OK (I did have to send a pdf proof of sending the money- not sure why they just couldn't check their account)!

Thank you, yes checked payment and it went out of my account Wednesday afternoon by BACS to their account (same account details we paid application fee to) so should have been in their account 2hrs later. Not heard anything from them since Wednesday lunchtime when they confirmed what to put as reference for payment, they definitely knew it was an acceptance though.

We were waiting list and I wrote last week to say school was still our number 1 choice, we’d accept immediately, bla bla ... so happily accepted verbally on the phone Tuesday morning, then emailed an acceptance in writing straight away, then emailed acceptance again when forms came through and confirmed we’d be paying that day (Wednesday). Am sure it’s totally fine, am imagining they were busy chasing people who didn’t get back to them and offering more waiting list places.

We are the same in regard to deposit paid and not heard anything. Our deposit was paid over 2 weeks ago... I have emailed and phoned but can't get hold of the registrar and no replies at all.

It is definitely worrying.

I sent an email last Wednesday in the end and got a reply saying yes he definitely had a place and they’d received the form and deposit then a letter at the end of the week confirming they’ll be in touch with information about settling days and uniform soon.

Good news from this side too. Received our confirmation last night with very similar information. I guess it has just been so hectic for them with kids going back etc.
