we didnt. we are 0.3 miles from our 1st choice. got 3rd choice! still a good school i thjnk but my daughter is very upset. we will stay on WL and see what happens but im trying to get her to see the positives

It’s hard for them isn’t it. Dd had her heart set on a certain school. Most of her friends are going there.

Yep, Dd got third choice and will be the only one in her class going there. I'm really anxious about it but she seems ok. I'm waiting for someone to phone me back to tell me where we are on the waiting list so I know if we have any chance of getting in that way.

My son didn't get his preferred choice. We're appealing because he would be going to a school with no one else from his school which would be very difficult for him as he is autistic.

Whoa that's harsh? Is it particularly small or were there lots of siblings?

Not us this year, but in London the number getting their first choice is well down on previous years.

One factor is, apparently, not all grammar scores being available by deadline, so parents had to guess if their child had done well enough
