Name changed as identifying. Anyone know anything about Bohunt Horsham? Either current parents or locals? We have been offered it for DC11 for Sept 2021 but as it's a new school we don't know much about it. We have either that or an indpendent offer to consider. I know Bohunt Liphook is very well regarded but looking for feedback specifically to the Horsham school. Thank you!

I don't know the Horsham school I'm afraid but my son is in one of the other BET schools and it is very good. We took a chance on it as it was also new and had no Ofsted or exam results to review and we can't fault it. Their lockdown learning offering has been excellent too.

I can't imagine the Horsham school will stray far from the BET ethos of competition and "growth mindset".

I know you are looking for Horsham specific posts so I won't post more, but if you would like to hear more about my son's experience or the BET ethos feel free to @ or message me.

I also have a child at a different Bohunt school and they have been excellent in all ways. Dc2 will be starting in September.

Hi I’m a parent of a Bohunt Horsham year 8 (one of the founding families). We took a leap of faith and are so glad we did. I cannot fault the school at all - both the headteacher and all the teachers are outstanding. Always go the extra mile. As the school is still very small they know all the children well. The temporary facilities are good and the new school looks amazing and is progressing well. It has been very exciting to be involved as a new parent from the start and the school seeks feedback from the parents continuously. They dealt with home schooling very well and as an iPad school were ready for online learning from day 1 of lockdown. All the parents I know are extremely happy with their choice. Hope this helps.

I am a Y7 Bohunt parent and am so pleased we chose it. One of my DP's sons is in Y11 at Bohunt Liphook, the other in Y12 so it was almost a given when we heard it was opening in Horsham as I'd heard such great things about Liphook.

The Head and teachers are enthusiastic and supportive. Willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have. My son loves it. The fact that it's new and small appealed to me, everyone is so excited about the new building opening in January. Some people were put off by the temporary accommodation but I was firmly of the opinion it not where but how my child was going to be taught. I only wish it had been open when we were looking for my now Y12 son.

Nothing negative to say at all. Only positive. My son is thriving and feels supported and cared for.

I'm also a Yr8 parent at Bohunt Horsham. We had a choice between Tanbridge and Bohunt and I am so pleased that we chose Bohunt. Fantastic staff, great ethos, know my child - strengths and weaknesses - and have a parent reference group. The remote learning and parent support has been excellent. Temporary school works very well and the new build is scheduled to be ready for Dec 2021. All of the Horsham schools are well regarded though. Forest will be co-ed from September.

I have a dc at Bohunt Horsham. I can also recommend the school. My dd has been very happy there. The teaching is great and my dd is thriving. Any issues we have had, have been dealt with quickly and effectively. We nearly sent her to Millais and I am very glad we didn't and my dd also agrees🙂 good luck with your choice.

Princessofarabia · 25/03/2021 16:58

Pressed send too soon. My ds is at Forest and I think my dd is getting a better educational experience. I wish we could have sent him, but he was too old by the time it opened.

Looking for insights into Millais Horsham versus Bohunt Horsham- specifically in terms of how well staff and the school handle behavioural issues with students and promote a culture of respect. Thank you!

I'm not surprised that new facilities appeal to many, although my daughter's primary school library has significantly more books than this secondary school (woefully inadequate). I recently attended an open day and found the setting very clinical and business like. The presentation from the headteacher more akin to a retail sales meeting than an overview of school teaching and care for children. Judgement of the schools performance has to be reserved until the first exam results come out. Not a fan of the iPads which were being used by all kids in every classroom I saw, I'd rather they practice their writing skills more. I'll stick with the tried and academically tested Millais.
