A-level certificates 2020 - has your DC had theirs?

Just realised that DD hasn't received her A-level certificates for last summer's "exams" yet. Seems awfully late to me?
Are others still waiting or has her old school screwed up (again)?

Yes, DD received her A level certificates last year.

Psychobobble · 25/02/2021 09:40

My ds hasn't had his yet from last year, no.

Cliff1975 · 25/02/2021 10:24

My son has been told that his A level certificates are at school but they wont be given out until school returns after lockdown

Seeline · 25/02/2021 10:28

We had both A levels and GSCEs posted to us in November (2 different schools for 2 DCs).

Primroze · 25/02/2021 11:13

Ours were supposed to collect them from school just before Xmas but it was postponed due to the lockdown. They want them to pick them up in person rather than post them so they can present them and see how they're getting on since they left.

mimbleandlittlemy · 25/02/2021 11:41

Nope, no one from ds's group have had theirs yet.

My DD hasn’t received her GCSE certificates, school didn’t want to post them and risk losing them, they are waiting for a suitable break in Lockdown.

Just for info when I asked this question on here a couple of months ago I received a few condescending and sarky responses, sigh.

BeyondMyWits · 25/02/2021 11:46

DD has, she went to school to get them in January. But she needs a further one as she took an exam for A level Chemistry in the Autumn (she felt she deserved more than she was given, and was proven correct - went from C to A) - those have not arrived yet.

UpDownQuark · 25/02/2021 11:49

Yes, DD’s were posted out to her in early January.

SarahLox77 · 25/02/2021 14:44

Thank you. I'll let it go for a few more weeks but will suggest to DD she should contact them if she hasn't heard anything by Easter.

SarahLox77 I'd tell your DD to email the exams officer and ask the plans for certificates. I had a couple of socially distance collection evenings organised which had to be cancelled due to lockdown and none of the schools in our MAT will post GCSE or A Level certificates partly due to the usual worries about addresses being incorrect once students have left school and partly because the postage for sending them with enough insurance to cover reordering any lost in the post ones is too much for my budget. But I am scanning and emailing or arranging timed appointments for any ex students who need them now and will do mass collection times when we re open.
Don't bother with ex head of year or head's pa etc go straight to the exams officer they will have them (and I would do it now as after opening and Easter the exams officer is likely to be rushed off their feet so get in whilst they're quieter Smile)
