Hi, does anyone have any advice on Beechwood pls? I attended when it was girls only many moons ago; so obviously it would have changed a lot. DS was offered an academic scholarship and it’s closer home than the other boarding schools we are considering. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't actually got children who go there but considering it for next year. I know a few people that have children there and a few of the staff and have only heard good things. I believe it to be a caring, nurturing school with very good pupil-teacher ratios

Would love to hear more about the senior school! Thinking of sending my daughter their for year 9.

My son started at Beechwood this spring and we have nothing but good things to report. Better than good, actually! We've been so impressed by the warmth of his reception, and how quickly he settled in. The staff have shown foresight and creativity with any issues that did arise, and basically smoothed his and our paths considerably as a result. There are a lot of building works going on there at the moment, but it is great to see necessary investment in the Victorian buildings (former convent) and the kids will have the benefits of these before long. Cannot speak too highly of it!

Also thinking of sending mine to start reception next year. I think the class sizes swung it for me but it does worry me a little how he will adapt later on in the ‘real world’ as it all seems so idyllic there.

My daughter only joined end of year 8 and is now in year 10 and is so happy there. Most of her friends have been there since reception and they are very happy and confident children.

It’s no longer a Catholic school by the look of it. No mention of Sacred Heart ethos anywhere to be seen on the website and the name is now very clearly Beechwood School.

That’s right. That changed when Alpha school took over. That’s were the investment came in from.
It’s called Beechwood School now.
