St Paul's boys 13+ reserve list

My son is on the St Paul's 13+ reserve list. He will take the test in Maths and English in October. Would you mind sharing your experience with me if your son got in from the reserve list too? Many thanks!

@AoifeYang Did your son take the exam this year? How did it go? Did you use any tutors? My son will take it next year and I am wondering where to start? Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

We took the exam this year without tutor, but we didn’t get the offer. About 125 boys competed for 20 places. If your prep school is good enough, it will help your son to prepare for reserve test. My son’s school has not completed Y8 maths before the exam. Not only that, my son didn't do any practice on Y7 content he learned. Therefore, I suggest you to have a tutor if you are eager for a place in St. Paul’s.

@AoifeYang thanks for response. Sorry to hear that. We are already now in another senior school through 11+ entry point.

We are not sure if we should sit reserve list at st Paul's as he seems to hv settled well at current school.

But if we decide to, what books would you recommend. Personally, at this stage I am ruling out tutoring.
