Looking at the AQA details I see there is one qualification called 'D&T' and I know the weighting is 50% exam and 50% NEA, and the exam is the same whatever area you specialise in. DS is really interested in Graphics (and ultimately Graphic Design) loves doing the graphics tech work and gets excellent marks. However, he really, really hates using the big machines to make 3D products, and indeed the end results aren't brilliant.

School separate tech into different specialisms for teaching but none of them is actually called graphics, and it is clear he would have to make plastic, wood and metal products in Y10.
Can the ultimate project be in Graphics only for this board? And am I right in thinking that whatever he makes in Y10 won't actually count for his overall mark (until they start the NEA in June). Obviously I realise this all assumes learning and the assessment format is 'normal' for 2021-23, which may be a big assumption.
