Hi
Which one of the schools - Haberdashers, Highgate or UCS would you choose for an all rounder boy. All convenient to get to.

Meant to say for 11 + entry.
Thanks all.

Lol I guess if they are all convenient then it doesn’t help to say whichever is closest, but there has to be one which is nearer and I think a shorter journey time is worth something. Haberdashers is the most academic of those or was always thought to be but they all get mostly top grades with only a few percent between all schools. So really it is down to your boy - if you think he’d be distracted by having girls around then maybe not Highgate, but maybe it would also be a positive, in terms of more like the real world. Also has more of a campus type spread out feel. I think Habs has lovely grounds. I think UCS has a more local feel to it from what I hear so if you live nearby you’d be more likely to have local friends.

Thank you. My son has offers for all of them but It’s very tricky which one to choose.

It’s really hard, did you get to see any of them? Does your son have a preference or friends that will be going to any of them? Where abouts are you based - it can’t be as convenient for all three school?

That’s a great set of offers- well done to him.

I think location would play a big part in the decision for me. If in Hampstead it would be hard to contemplate an hour’s coach journey each way to/from Habs when UCS is local. And Highgate is sort-of local but tricky to get to at busy times.

Having said that my heart would swoon for the glorious setting of Habs!

What would your son’s day to day routine really look like at each school? Did you get any feel yourself as to which had better communications with you as a prospective parent?

If I had the pick of the 3, I would definitely pick Habs. It gives a second to none all-rounded education, however it's location means the kids come from a wider selection of areas, although coaches. My 2nd pick would be UCS

Thank you everyone for your advice. They are all good schools. It’s a tricky one!!
