GCSE Music performance - suitable pop songs

Can anyone suggest suitable pop songs that meet the criteria for GCSE performance and might appeal to a slightly grungy 15yo who is struggling to pick something they like and are willing to work on?

Artists she listens to: YungBlud, 21 Pilots, Panic at the Disco, Oasis, Cavetown, Ben Platt.

She's not really aiming for top grades and I'm not interested in anything that requires years of singing lessons and grade 5+ ABRSM exams. The original intention was to do the performance mainly as an ensemble, working with friends. Clearly that's gone out of the window due to Covid. She's a bit stuck because she doesn't have individual singing lessons, hates online tuition and there's not much help coming from school who I think are also struggling with how to deal with performance subjects.

Any suggestions of something that is not excessively difficult but will help her just get through this relatively unscathed would be most welcome.

Most of DD's year did Christina Perri - Thousand Years, or Jar of Hearts - they were considered difficult enough, but easy enough to do with just a little practise - good as solo and as duet/ensemble.

(DD considered 21 Pilots, but they were not vocally difficult enough)

Have a look at the popular song p.301 in the edexcel difficultly booklet. There are lots of suggestions including Oasis. She’ll want something at level 4/5

If that’s too much choice, then go to the Rockschool or Trinity Rock and Pop grade 4/5 lists and pick something from one of those.

Thanks both of you. Good to have some ideas. She's not doing Edexcel but I can't believe there that much difference and I've given her the list.

If she's quite grungy (as am I) would something from the first album Fallen by Evanescence work? Maybe My Immortal?

If she likes Ben Platt is there anything from Dear Evan Hansen. Or a female version of Corner of the Sky

The Edexel list is a good starting point, even give AQA. But in AQA it’s better to absolutely nail a lower grade difficulty song than make errors in a higher grade song.
