Portsmouth Grammar School learning support for pupils - any experience?

Have any other MNers got children with dyslexia / other learning support needs at Portsmouth Grammar School?

Dearest daughter is in year 5 and we are looking around at secondaries in the Portsmouth area but I have concerns about the learning support available at PGS.

I suspect DD has an undiagnosed learning support need/dyslexic tendancies so may need a bit of extra help. Her current school rates her so I think she would keep up with the pace at PGS but I can see possible problems in the future.

Given Covid we havent been to the open day where I hoped to be able to talk to Senco or similar and the school website hardly mentions anything.

Whatsmore a friend who is in the trade (at another school admitedly) doesnt rate their setup for learning support, she also said that they are regularly advertising for teachers in this area so maybe its not a strength?

Anyone with experiences good or bad?

It's dreadful, really dreadful. Had to pull my dd out in year 8 as it was so unsupportive, the other pupils didn't understand Learning Support so were really sneery. Totally hopeless and damaging.....
But this was before the new head got her feet fully under the desk, so she may have changed things for the better.
PGS is for your straight down the middle kid, results driven.
Personally I wouldn't recommend, but talk to more recent pupils and specifically those who had learning support. I would love it if they have improved.
