Good mixed schools Surrey?

Hi there, does anyone have any recommendations for mixed private schools (primary and or secondary) in the Guildford area- up to an hour drive away? There seem to be many very highly rated single sex schools and I am unsure why? Having gone to an all girls school myself I am keen for DD to go to mixed..!

There are loads of mixed secondaries - Churchers College, Charterhouse, Cranleigh, St George's Weybridge, Epsom College, St John's Leatherhead and many more.

Some children head east from Guildford to Caterham or Reigate Grammar. Seems a long bus/train ride when there are great schools locally. But I think a lot do it because they want mixed day schools and there aren’t so many in Guildford.

Depends what you are after. I've heard very happy reports of St George's Weybridge and have been impressed by the pupils from there. Claremont has a reputation for being a very happy school but it's not that academic and it's in Esher so a fair way from Guildford.

State schools George Abbott and Howard of Effingham have good reputations afaik.
