DD got LEH! With an academic scholarship! So proud of her. It’s our first choice so we will release our other offers. Much shrieking in this house

@Trialsat11 - commiserations on WL, but I agree that top third sounds promising as there is bound to be a lot of WL movement this year. It's so hard to explain that to our DCs though - I'm sorry that your DD is upset.

And congratulations @Stircrazyschoolmum - is WHS your first choice do you think?

@Trialsat11 not wanting to sound like a broken record, as PP have said, I think you are in with a good chance. Try and enjoy your weekend with your DD, do things, (difficult in lockdown, I know). That will take her mind off it all. Maybe a nice takeaway, movie night & popcorn. Always does the trick in my household

We are waiting for the GHS waiting list 😒

We have already had the chat in our household and DD is determined that she wants to go to GHS - I think the sporting opportunities they offer are a big factor for her and the fact they offered her an academic scholarship has also swayed her. DH also feels more comfortable with her taking a train OUT of London as opposed to commuting in. LEH and WHS are both fantastic schools and I can’t believe we will be turning them down but my gut tells me GHS is the right choice. We are going to leave it for the weekend and if we are in the same frame of mind turn down the other offers on Monday morning.

Ugh, again, sorry to hear about the WL places but truly - this year with everyone applying all over the place, this was bound to happen. Just might need to see how things settle in early March and beyond. !!! Hopefully sooner, if people start releasing places after Feb 12/13 once results mostly out everywhere! Hang in there.

I think everyone has different considerations around extra curricular, commute, bursary/scholarship offers, etc, etc. Whist there might be ‘close contenders’ I think most people fortunate enough to have multiple offers will be able to release a couple relatively quickly even if they need longer picking between their top two.

@Yossahughes I’m so glad you have a unanimous decision in your house, it sounds like it will suit her down to the ground!

@stircrazyschoolmum you are right that everyone will have different considerations and as they are all amazing schools you can’t really go wrong. Having older DCs and knowing what it’s like when they start to socialise more, we have paid particular attention to commute times and the location of possible friendship groups. We are lucky to have so many fantastic girls school in the south west....

Does anyone know if LEH is sending yes/no/wl letters or if they are only yes/wl?

@siz99 They’re just sending offer or waitlist. That’s what the head said in the parent talks.

@GU22Mum sorry that hear about WL, hope this situation changes for you as offers are released by those who don’t need them.
Are there are more schools expected to release results or are the rest of us waiting until 11th/12th now. It just feels like such a long time away.

Hello, good news here too from WHS. Such a relief! I'm really pleased they are offering opportunities to explore the school more in the next few weeks, albeit virtually.

I do think the WL will move a lot this year as others have said. Really hope the dust settles in the next couple of weeks and all of our DDs can look forward to new adventures.

@dinosaurinmybelly what are WHS offering by way of exploring the school more? It’s not one we applied for, but I’m intrigued as I hope ours will follow suit! It’s hard to get a feel for the schools when we haven’t seen them. Are they doing tasters?

People waiting to hear from PHS - I just randomly logged into our open apply portal to check something and it tells you if you have an offer. We got one because there’s an option to accept or reject it and all the application paperwork is there.
