Daughter has asked her school and her form tutor doesn’t know when they’ll receive them, have your children received theirs?

My DS got his last term (both OCR and AQA boards).

estherfrewen · 10/01/2021 12:23

DS hasn't heard a word about getting them

EwwSprouts · 10/01/2021 12:28

DS received his last term. AQA, Edexcel & WJEC.

TheFallenMadonna · 10/01/2021 12:30

Ask the exams officer. They were sent out last term.

Lonecatwithkitten · 10/01/2021 13:02

Edexcel and AQA all arrived in November.

TrumptyDumpty · 10/01/2021 13:09

Yes my son received them a few weeks ago.

Heifer · 10/01/2021 15:08

DD was given hers last day school in December - which reminds me. I need to copy and file them before they get lost..

Cherryonthetop2019 · 10/01/2021 15:53

We got DD’s at end November.

ProggyMat · 10/01/2021 16:02

DD picked her GCSE certificates (AQA, OCR and Edexcel) from ‘old school’ in November.
@Heifer cheers for the heads up on what she has actually done with them since Shock Grin

PaddingtonPaddington · 10/01/2021 17:24

Yes DD got hers in December.

dizzydizzydizzy · 10/01/2021 17:37

No word from our school about GCSE or A Level certificates. Various boards - Edexcel, OCR and AQA.

Doublechins · 10/01/2021 17:39

I got mine in the post last month

FAQs · 10/01/2021 18:41

Seems a bit mixed, also a mixture of exam boards, mainly AQA? We have asked a few times now and daughter asked again last week and the school either don’t respond or her form teacher doesn’t know and doesn’t seem to be finding out either.

The teachers won't know. The exams officer will have them.

user1471530109 · 10/01/2021 19:09

School will have them. It might not be convenient at the moment for them to give you them at the moment (due to lockdown I mean) but if you contact them.i am sure they will advise.

Oblomov20 · 10/01/2021 19:10

Ds1 got his last term.

user1471530109 · 10/01/2021 19:10

Why don't you ring them and speak to someone? Schools are a bit busy at the moment (although I agree that's a bit shit if you've asked before lockdown and more than once).

SeasonFinale · 11/01/2021 20:16

Is she still at the school where she her A levels? If so they may have been planning to distribute them on return to school in January if they had mocks in December. We do it the other way, distributed within school in December and mocks after Christmas.

We had soecific days because of social distancing when they were supposed to collect their certificates and sign for them. Perhaps she missed this.

It is the Exams Officer who would deal with this so if you could get their name from the website or form teacher then you caould email the exams officer direct. It is a bit crap of the form teacher that they didn't agree to find out what was happening or even tell your DD to ask (name) the exam officer.

starlilly88 · 12/01/2021 10:23

My DDs schools is keeping hold of them for some reason, she was allowed to see them and check they were correct.

Historygeek05 · 12/01/2021 10:47

This seems very strange. Exam boards make it quite clear that the certificates must be issued to students without delay. I would definitely be querying this with the exams officer.

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 12/01/2021 15:07

AQA and Edexcel here but no mention of them from our school. I keep wondering when they will get them.

FAQs · 13/01/2021 15:36

Thanks everyone, I did manage to get hold of the Exams officer and they have them, they are holding on to them until they can be handed out/collected when they get back to some sort of normal, they don’t want to risk posting them, which seems fair.

OP posts:
starlilly88 · 13/01/2021 16:31

The school said they hold onto them in case they get lost, as they are expensive to replace. They get given them when they leave the school

Amarilike · 13/01/2021 22:21

Presuming you mean students who would were last years Y11’s?

We’ve got ours all ready to hand out to students if they need them. But we’re holding onto them unless asked as we’d really like to try to do an event to collect them and praise the students when Covid is better.

Her school should have them there and it would be the Exam Officer who is responsible.

Amarilike · 13/01/2021 22:22

Sorry somehow missed your update. Sane as our school then. If you need them for any reason sooner they should be able to sign them out for you to collect safely.
