Emanuel Exam mess up!

So I have heard that the Emanuel Exam today being held online was a bit of a disaster on the technical front and the invigilation link crashed midway through the first paper! But the exam continued without invigilation and the participants got extra time (until 3pm) to finish the papers. My daughter is meant to sit the Emanuel exam on Friday so am wondering how on earth it is going to be fair given people sitting it today could have phoned a friend, used google/ calculators or even had parental help! Just really worried she is going to have no chance now as a result!

@Londonmum2020 we were discussing this in the girls thread yesterday as there a few of us sitting it on Friday. What a mess! Hard to get a handle on whether it was only one ‘room’ impacted or everyone. Not a fair process for anyone though. It you have a child who is very competent in VR for example how do you demonstrate their high score is actually ‘theirs’?

I’d expect some form of comms from the school on Monday.. there seems to be quite a few unhappy parents in both camps!

My son took the Emanuel exam yesterday, uninvigilated. To give the other perspective, we are very concerned that the school will assume that he, and other candidates in the same position, cheated. He did not. We were very strict with him, he had the specified amount of time and no more, and we did not look at any of the questions. He simply submitted his papers when the time was up. I think it's sad to assume that people lack the integrity to be honest. Our son is very keen on the school and we now wish he had been in a group with invigilation due to potential assumptions that will be made about his cheating. Which ever group you are in this is a concern and a total mess.

Hopefully the school will communicate what will happen.
My daughter had to travel 70 miles to sit an entrance exam during the November lockdown (for sixth form entry) but schools were still open then (still unsure about the sense of having dozens of girls from all over mixing). Other schools she applied to either dispensed with the exams and looked at school reports and interview only or had previous work (including exam papers) submitted in lieu of exams.

@Boks48 I thought that was the whole point of the sibling policy? Lower score required. The assumption being, if a sibling is there you will probably take the place, rather than have it as your backup.
