Ds is due to get teacher assessed grades this year. Has worked hard in class and homework but doesn't think he has had a chance to really show what he can do. Worried he will only have the mocks when they go back to show what his grade could be. As AS levels are not compulsory and most don't use them I do wonder if he needs to go through this. Happy for school to assess internally but worried after a stressful few months including isolating due to contacts universities would look at grades when the apply in yr13. Lots of students won't have this so what is the advantage. I know I am thinking worst case and certainly might very well be good grades but is the stress worth it for something that isn't really needed.
