A' Level PE Practical - no games - no video evidence!

My DD is in her 2nd year of OCR board PE A level. The exam board says that video evidence must be supplied to support her ability within game play. She's played 3 games since February, only one of which we videoed and that was at a much lower level than she normally plays at. She has only played 3 games as she has had 2 lots of 2 week isolation since September, and lots of games were postponed or cancelled. And there were no games to video between March and October. Now all league games have been suspended until at least February.
As the video evidence is 30% of the total exam grade I really don't know what to do. The school is not being very helpful, they just state the above and say get more video, but she plays a team sport and covid guidelines don't allow for games in the foreseeable future. We are in tier 4.
Does anyone know what happens if you have no proof of level of sports achievements in previous years? Or if the exam board will make allowances because of covid, if you play a team sport?
Any suggestions?

Not sure what sport your DD plays, but U18s are allowed to continue to play hockey in tier 4. Does your DD play for a club? If so could they arrange a match? We've only been in Tiers 3 and 2 (now back to 3) and have managed to play quite a few friendlies for our senior teams, and 1 U18s match (cup). It sounds as though the school isn't going to help so see how the club can. I doubt your DD is the only 1 with no video footage so worth a try.

My DD is in Yr12, so hopefully we can get hers sorted next season as I fancied some time just watching this season instead of video and getting freezing hands :-)

Good luck

I’m having the same issue but with GCSE PE. School have managed to get some videos and we were doing the rest after Christmas. Non of the team were playing well to start with after such a long break so we were advised to wait which has completely backfired. We went into T4 on Boxing Day so yes Under 18 sport can be played but the league has cancelled all matches until Feb so there isn’t any matches go play. DS1 is so stressed. He is supposed to be doing A level PE as well so needs a good grade.

What a difference a week makes?

No sport for anyone until the end of February.

Good luck for both your DD & DS Heifer and ihearttc, onwards and upwards!

We're the same with GCSE PE and DS chose summer sports so he can't be assessed in either athletics or tennis. Plus he's currently got a number of health issues so even if sport was up and running, he wouldn't be able to compete. Sad
