Exam extra time

My yr 11 DS came home yesterday and said that he had been pulled out of class and told that he can take a test to see if he can get extra time in his GCSE’s. Apparently he was asked to sign a form to give his permission to take the test. I’ve been told nothing about this by school.
So, why haven’t I been told that they have a concern about my child ?

It's nothing to worry about. A teacher may have flagged up that he runs out of time in writing tasks so they might be checking his writing speed. It isn't really a 'concern', it is the school doing their job.

If he is y11 and this is the first time they have spoken about concessions and you had no issues beforehand there clearly/probably isn't anything major going on.

If there is something to tell you, they will.
Chill and let them do their job. Smile

(Both mine have writing / processing difficulties & qualified for extra time, but their needs were evident way before y11).
