I'm doing a mock interview for a friend's child. As I'm a few years though this process just wondered if anyone had any top tips and questions that I can ask! Thx x

You do know Mumsnet is a used throughout the UK if not the world. My DCs went to Emmanuel but pretty sure it’s not the one you are asking about.

I'd suggest "how do you spell the name of the school for which you are applying?". (Honestly - they have asked that at interview)

Fair point Harry!

I am talking about Emmanuel School, Wandsworth, London.

Many thx x

My son sat for Emanuel two years ago. He was asked the usual questions about himself, favourite books, subjects, did he play in any sports etc. The he was asked some mental maths questions. Then finally he was shown a painting which I later worked out from a post interview grilling, was Hunters in the Snow by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. He had to describe what he saw then estimate when he thought it had been painted. He said it looked old so went for 1982
It was in fact painted in 1565.

Halloween Grin

OP: They send a pre-interview form that guides the majority of the interview, so I would use that to plan. Then, as PatoPato says, some simple mental arithmetic and, for this year, it was a newspaper story (something about environment and saving the planet for my DS) for discussion.

He also asked them lots of questions, including: "why choose Emanuel over other SW London schools?" Blush, and, more importantly: "how long are the lunch breaks?" Smile

I wonder if the interviewer managed to not laugh at that.
I bet they hear the craziest answers.
