Schools near Latymer

Have a potential to move near Latymer where one of our twins might get an offer. However, what would be a good school to think about for our other twin both private and state schools within the catchment area.

I know Palmers Green High is around the corner

The Latymer catchment is massive - most N, EN and several E postcodes. There's loads of places near by that have decent state and private schools. A few private ones are North London Collegiate, Highgate, Forest school, Bancrofts (may be on the edge), City of London. Is the twin male or female? I don't know state schools in Hampstead, Islington, Enfield area but Camden school for girls, Clapton girls, Mossbourne, Walthamstow girls are all decent state schools.

Yes it is definitely less than the other schools mentioned, but still lovely and girls do thrive. Have friend with daughters there

Latimer is right next to the West London Free School which my son attends . It was founded by Toby Young . It is supposed to give private schools a run for their money

Alexandra Park School would be my choice. But surely you've missed the state school deadline for next year? Was it not October 31?

That's why I asked "which Latymer" - the OP is asking about the one in Edmonton, not west London.

West London Free School has changed. If you are considering this school for your child then please read my comments first. I had two boys go through the school. The eldest left in 2020 the youngest in 2021. Both did very well. The eldest achieved A A A. The youngest achieved A A A. I currently have a daughter in year 10. She has been mercilessly bullied for 15 months. She is not alone. There are a core group of really bad children who are politically motivated. There is an ant white bias within the school. There is anti Semitism within the school. If you do not follow this groups ideology you will be bombarded with online racial abuse and threats. If you stand up for yourself you will get beaten up. My daughter was recently knocked unconscious. This same group are also bullying members of staff. Posting online comments via their social media that the current head of year 9 is a Rapist. There have been posts about a member of staff who has since left stole school funds. There are Facebook and Instagram pages dedicated to what they determine is a racist school run by white privileged staff. I have been reporting these incidents to the school. To the School Governors. To Hammersmith & Fulham’s Children’s Services. To The H&F Childrens Practitioners. I have informed The Police and I have written to Ofsted. The school sent there is a problem. The children concerned have received no punishment for naming the head of year a rapist on social media. The school actually as always in these situations hide behind guidelines and rules and regulations. They become defensive and work against the families. It’s fair to say the other professional bodies that I have mentioned do the same. The school do not class the bullying as bullying. They prefer to call it unpleasantness. By not labelling it as bullying it helps their figures. The two joint heads are inexperienced and way out of their depth. This used to be the best school in the area but sadly no more. I would certainly think twice before considering this school for your child
