Surrey private school recommendations

I’d really appreciate any help or advice that can be given on the subject of private schools. We currently live in surrey and would ideally like to stay here due to work location (epsom area) but have been thinking about moving to be closer to a better secondary school for our daughters.

I’m a little daunted as the reason I’m thinking private is one daughter has dyslexia and I want her to get as much support as possible but a lot of the schools seem pretty selective and I don’t think she would do well enough on the entrance criteria

Can anyone recommend a school that's less focused on academic ability and more on the happiness and wellbeing.

I’ve applied for the next open day at moon school in Reigate but I don’t think she necessarily needs a specialist school.

Kings wood house is a good choice for Sen kids. They have a specialist section that deals with quite tricky conditions, but it isn’t a specialist school in name.

So you aren’t sure if your daughter needs a mainstream or a special school? Have you spoken to her teachers and the Senco?

In terms of mainstream independent schools that aren’t massively selective and have a few children with difficulties, you could look at Ewell Castle or Box Hill as they should be easily accessible from Epsom.

No I think she would do better in private with more focused teaching and smaller classes but I need to find one that isn’t going to be very selective based on academic ability

Kingswood is known as a special school without the label iykwim.
