Alternative Schooling

Good Afternoon,
Would anyone know of any schools in the east/north east London/Essex suburbs that are able to provide an alternative to academic lessons for a year 9 school refuser. I am thinking of something like a technical/agricultural school.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know specific schools in that area, but have you considered colleges for next year? They often have vocational courses for 14-16 year olds. There would be some compulsory academics alongside it, but perhaps that balance would be a better fit.

Meantime have you considered home education? You can put together whatever subjects you want, and do them hands-on if that is best suited to your child. It doesn't have to be academic. In their teens my eldest did mainly music, art and sports coaching combined with various paid and voluntary work in a variety of jobs. Feel free to come over to the home ed board if you want to discuss what that could look like.
