Newport Girls High or other recommendations

Can you give me feedbacks on Newport Girls High School? DD is very able academically, so I'm looking for a secondary in Shropshire which would encourage her to reach her academic potential, where kids don't get bullied for being smart or a bit different and possibly teachers are still using traditional methods (I don’t like politics at school and teaching on computers/YouTube). I'd really appreciate your recommendations and also where to avoid! I would even consider moving county for the right school.

Are you only wanting state or considering private?

NGHS is the only girls grammar in Telford and Wrekin. There are no grammars in Shropshire. There are several private schools though.

I went to NGHS and left in 2009. It was a fantastic school that pushed us all to reach our academic potential. However extra curricular activities and sport at the time were limited so if that is something you value then it’s worth enquiring to see if that’s now changed.

Since I left they have converted to an academy and seem to have invested considerably in the buildings and classrooms. When I was there half the classrooms were portacabins!!
