Hi my dd has applied for the silver dofe through school , she hasn’t been accepted yet but I’m researching what she can do as volunteering she loves animals especially dogs and would possibly like to do dog training and handling , due to the pandemic I know of places that aren’t taking volunteering . Can anyone advise me please Thankyou

Could she volunteer regularly to walk dogs for elderly neighbours?

Hi all,
Also looking for volunteering ideas for my two boys (bronze and silver), not animal related though.
thank you

When I did it people normally did things related to their hobbies eg volunteer in climbing centre, ice skating, stables etc. In the current clime I would suggest they look for things that are either outdoors eg garden centre or remote eg my borough has lots of volunteers calling shielding elderly people. Most kids do silver in y12+ so age shouldn't be a problem.

DS volunteered at a wildlife rescue place. He's very knowledgeable about hedgehogs now. :)

Blue cross have online volunteering opportunities at the moment. I know it’s not quite the same as doing a face to face role but they do have some important tasks that can be done remotely
