CLSG: does it make sense to change at Sixth Form?

My daughter attends a Grammar school, but would like to change at Sixth Form for various reasons. We've been looking around and the one we liked the most was City Girls. She might not get a place, but, as part of our decision, we're trying to understand whether this move might reduce her chances to get a place in a good uni. Does anyone here have experience at the CLSG Sixth Form? Is it difficult to make friendships at this level? And does anyone know to what extend university's admission policies are affecting schools like CLSG? And would an application from a Grammar school have the same weight as one from a Comprehensive? Thanks very much!
