Hi - I'm considering this school for my DD but am a little confused....it has great GCSE results but then the A Level results by comparison are not so great. Is there a lot of turnover in the school post GCSE or is the school getting more selective?

The current year 11 pupils are from the first cohort of entry at age 11, the school has been transformed since the current sixth formers joined at 13, you can't really compare. (I'm not a parent but my ds had an offer but we turned it down due to distance and fees structure).

My eldest has moved there for sixth form from a school probably considered more academic. She's found that though there's a broader range than at her last school, it's far more academic than she'd expected. Also, she loves it!!

Intrigued about few structure?

*fee structure

It's more expensive from year 9, same as Epsom and Reeds. It's because they all started at age 13 until a few years ago, at age 11 they have to compete with other age 11 entry schools.

Does this mean the school has become more selective? I wonder if it is usually seen as a backup school or maybe this has changed over the years, especially since the introduction of years 7 to 9.

@79abbot , it's no longer a back up school, it's difficult to get a place at 11, the lower school building is very special with a wonderful atmosphere, each child is greeted by a member of staff each morning (apparently). It has a wide catchment too.

Can anyone add more on how it is for girls in y10-11?
