West Yorkshire private schools? Silicoates / Fulneck

Anyone familiar with either of these schools?

Year 7 DC, not happy with high school. In fairness any half decent ones are way over subscribed and the rest are dire, including the one DC is at.

We can, at a real.push, budget from our limited savings, grandparent chucking in and serious savings over years to cover fees up to end if GCSE.

Issue is, I can't find any "honest" reviews of either school. I'm not expecting A* results but want DC to be in a more encouraging environment than one they are in now.

I want someone to be able to give honest insights, are either if these schools good? Is it really worth us financially squeezing ourselves? What is social side like? Are the demographics so wide once step.oyt if school the social side goes too, if that makes sense? Will we be so far, financially, from rest of intakes it will be obvious and cause DC issues? Is the focus on sport above all else?

I have open says apps but I'm sure with any questions I ask I will get told what they think I want to hear rather than the nitty gritty!

Any insights anyone can provide hugely appreciated!

We sent dc2 to silcoates.
He was at a much more prestigious, well known school ( with better results) about 30 mins away and was super unhappy. We moved him at the end of y9 so not ideal time to move a kid.
He absolutely flourished, got into a highly competitive course at a prestigious university, made loads of great friends who were from a variety of backgrounds from very rich to struggling to pay the fees. It was the absolute making of him, a very unhappy disaffected boy turned into a student leader and an academic star. I would have moved the others, but they were happy where they were, and logistically that school was much easier for us.
