My grandson will be sitting the Hampton 10+ Advance Place assessments in November and I have no idea what to do to get him ready. Can you please help, is there material that can help him prepare. Has anybody used the material from Exam Papers Plus, would you recommend it? Thank you !!

Focus on maths problems- bond papers
English comprehension- bond papers
English- grammar

Bond papers to begin with-

To give him confidence start with his age group snd then aim for the year above.

Good luck

Np. Also go onto the website and look for other schools which do 10+ Whitgift and Emanual school and they provide sample papers which are free.

Hi, due to covid hampton are only assessing maths and English creative writing this year, there is no comprehension. They will look for grammar in the creative writing. I think they will invite more boys for interview instead.
So practice maths with bond books as Blubell46 says and for English get him to write about things - an item you give him, a picture or photograph or start a story for him (my kids favourite!). Look at story structure, language & grammar.
Hope it helps & good luck.

How did it go? It's a disadvantage for my son since he was doing Comprehension and not very good at creative writing....

My grandson did not want to prepare, he said that he was fine to sit the exams without prep lol. With so much pressure around Covid we decided not to pressurise him ..what will be will be..

I am key worker so didn't have much time at home with my son. We did about 3-4 practice papers and he went from 95% right to 90% right, not improving but worse so I decided to let him do whatever he wanted to haha. A bit worried with English though.
