A level help

My daughter has just started her a levels at college
Psychology (she loves) geography and economics

She told me today that she doesn't like economics

Other subjects she could possibly switch to are environmental science or sociology

I don't know how long she has before having to make a decision- only 3 weeks into the course
I don't know what to advise as she knows economics is a good a level... but I think dull

Make the switch as soon as possible. I would be a bit wary that sociology is too similar to psychology and might narrow down her options a bit more.

Environmental science is a good subject coverings lots of topics with some overlap with geography.

Does she have any plans for the future?

No idea - she like the weather! she wanted to do maths /chemistry but didn't get her predicted gcse so ended up with economics and geography

Are college giving any advice? Where was she heading with psychol, chem & maths? She sounds science orientated rather than humanities. Is there a BTEC science that she could do? A distinction in a BTEC is up there with A levels and gaining university entry.
Like pp have said there’s overlap with Geography & Environmental science. Less so with psychology & sociology. Definitely look at BTecs & see if there’s anything there she fancies.

Economics is very mathsy. If she's in doubt and doesnt like the maths aspect she should ditch now. But you said she didn't get her predicted grade even at GCSE. If you'd said she was doing A level maths I'd have said carry on. But nah - ditch now. As for an alternative I can't say. How about Biology? 'softer' than chemistry which you've mentioned, and would work well with the psychology and geography

A level geography is quite mathsy too!

Can she still change courses? DD's deadline was last week...

I'd go for environmental science, so long as the maths content isn't too high. Or are there any possible BTechs?

Not quite the same level of maths tho! I know this because DS (and English and history student to his core) coped well and gained an A star in A level geography. With ease!
