Any A level Art teachers?

Just panicking a bit in case of school closing, are there any materials I should have on stand by. All work usually done at school as a boarder.
There's plenty of room, but no table as yet.
Thanks.

My advice would be different depending on which year of the course. Is the student lower or upper 6th?

Perhaps get your DC to talk to their teacher about what they should do and what they might need if there's a lockdown. It well may be that each student is using separate materials in school, and that they will be able to take them home if necessary.

For lower sixth, I'd recommend a set of shading pencils, charcoal, decent quality pencil crayons, black fine liner pen, watercolours and brushes would make a good basic kit. I'd add a small set of acrylic paints too if possible (go for less colours and better quality).
For upper sixth, my students are now at the point of refining their own work and have greatly narrowed down the media they are working with so it would be best to ask the student what they have been using.
I packed all my A-Level students off with a basic kit and made sure they took their sketchbook home before lockdown back in March. It might be worth checking if a similar contingency plan is already in place before investing in too much equipment.

Sorry, lower 6th and thanks very much.

Oh, if only it were that simple, I'm her mum, she tells me nothing until it's too late Grin

Thank you very much.
