Holland Park 6th Form - and sixth form in general

Hi- Wondering if anyone has experience with HP sixth form?

Particularly those parents whose children are in HP secondary. Very mixed signals about the process of going from the secondary school to sixth form.

In addition, I have grown increasingly concerned with the school and these concerns were amplified since Covid (basically very poor and limited reporting during Covid and since. No confidence in the GCSE teacher recommended scores, teacher turnover, etc).

Finally, any good recommendations for state and independent sixth form would be great.

Is your child going to HP from another state school or from a private school? And what are they interested in doing at A-level?

Unless things have changed dramatically in the last 3 years I would not recommend it. My daughter left the school pre Sixth but many of her friends stayed on and regretted it.

There was not much dedicated space for Sixth formers like in other schools, the ‘uniform’ (business wear) was a pain and generally they found it unpleasant. One friend had a massive row about her first med school choice on her UCAS form which she loved (and now attends) but the school didn’t think it prestigious enough, which sort of sums them up...
