No personal experience as my daughter is at Sydenham school (the state one).
I have friends with girls at Syd High and they are very happy with it.
Hopefully someone with direct experience will come along soon.

Hi guys. Would love to get some feedback from any current pupils/parents at Sydenham ? DD just got an offer and so hard when you can’t visit! Advantages and disadvantages would be really handy to know. Thank you x

We have friends with girls in the senior school and they are very happy. Great pastoral care and a great wide variety of non-academic activities.

hi, I'm currently yr 10 at Syd High. I've been here since age 4 so I know everything about the school. Personally (and I think most pupils would agree), it's a really nice school overall and with a more social aspect, you know everyone in your year and there really isn't much drama or mean girl type "cliques". Basicallly this means that I'm friends or at least friendly with everyone in our year. the school feels like a family which is so lovely. ill just quickly write some positives and negatives just to sum up.
Positives
most (if not all) teachers are great, forward-thinking and happy to give extra help if needed
pastoral care is great, amazing mental health support
girls have great social skills and are confident and kind
(usually) great trips and extra curricular (covid not helping!)
really good netball, running, athletics, dance etc
tons of people do art and very popular here
music is a strong point too
loads of interyear friendships
uniform is so nice, we all love it

negatives
is small which some people don't like
can be quite strict about uniform, lateness, phones etc
not the best facilities (have to remember its London though!)
girls only and no socials/major connections with the boys schools
lots of people leave for sixth form for a co ed school (nothing against the school just want male friendships!)

but overall its a lovely school and I have friends at all the other local independent schools. would say syd is less stressful and less of a hothouse but still good results (:
hope this helps
