Your first post was only an hour ago! What sort of information are you hoping for?

SamBee1 · 23/09/2020 16:05

Lol. My daughter goes there, anything specific?

Let me know if you want any specifics, but for my daughter the school has been fantastic, the teaching excellent, the headteacher is inspiring.

My daughter has had zero bullying in her 3 years there (not to say it doesn't exist) and has made an absolutely lovely group of friends. The school has been responsive to any issues, and the only issue I had which was the extensive school rebuilding works being disruptive has now finished and the building looks amazing (for obvious reasons I've only been in part of new buildings).

Exam results are excelling, the Progress 8 results are the best in Camden, and the school is only going in one direction.

I was fairly sure my youngest daughter would end up at AB due to the amount of her friends who are boys, but i'm 99% sure she'll end up at Parliament Hill as well. I appreciate it's a pretty glowing report, but i've nothing but praise for it, and that goes for friends parents as well.

Thanks so much!

Hi, Also really interested in Parliament Hill, how would you say it compares to Acland Burghley, St Marylebone, Camden School for Girls? Shy daughter in Year 4 and very interested in Parli.

londoneuro · 05/04/2021 09:51

Bumping this. I had written it off as thought we were too far out of the catchment, but there seems to have been a lot of movement on the waiting list in the last month and DD may have a chance of a place before September. Am wondering specifically if anyone knows anything about the PE provision there - DD is very sporty.

ExiledinIslington · 05/04/2021 16:31

Parli was our 1st choice for DD, she's on the waiting list at number 40. Whereabouts is your DD on the list @londoneuro?
We visited in Y5 and they have some good facilities for PE compared to other schools we saw.

londoneuro · 06/04/2021 14:59

@ExiledinIslington she was in the low 30s last time I checked. It was my DD's 2nd choice, and she currently has an offer at our 3rd choice. Our top-3 choices all have pros and cons and it feels like there is not much between them really, so we're just trying to weigh up the options in case she does get offered a place before September.

I know nothing about St Marylebone, but I say for a shy girl it's well above the other 2 - really nurturing, great friendships created and very little bullying. I love AB, but would probably suit a more boisturous (sp?) child - we might send out 2nd livelier kid there. I'm very meh about CSG these days, probably not the best person to ask. To avoid a probably inappropriate phrase, I find it all sizzle no steak.
