Camden school for girls catchment

Hi All

First time posting here.
My daughter is about to sit the banding assessment for Camden school for girls and I want to know what are our chances of getting her in, irrespective of banding group.
We live about 0.2 miles from the school on Patshull Road.
Anyone have experience of living so close to the school and not getting a place?
One of our neighbours mentioned we have a 50% chance of getting a place at the school based on where we live and wanted to see if anyone has experience.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Alex

Depends on your band but I would probably delete the name of your road from your post.

Look on the school website as they’ve got the admission distances going back years. I think you’ve got much more of a chance of getting in on any band than 50%.
Saying that you’d likely get DD into Parli too. Not much to choose between academics and a lovely building on the Heath and with good pastoral care. If you want a girl's school you’ll be fine.

My DD is also taking the banding assesment! If you look at the Camden Secondary school guide, catchment areas will be there! ( btw we are 1.3 miles away so we will probably be going parli but she wont mind as all her freinds will be there)

You would have got into any of the four bands for the last two years. 2020 distances first in miles, then 2019 distances (in March, they would go out further by Sept:
Band A 0.46, 0.82
Band B 0.77, 0.49
Band C 0.47, 0.31
Band D 0.4, 0.54

No idea where your helpful neighbours are plucking this 50% figure from. It's not a certainty, but your chances should be very good.

Maybe your neighbour was thinking back to before 2014 when the “catchments” were tiny.

The movement has been minimal for the 2020 intake.

I think 0.2 miles away she'll be fine going on recent distances.
My DD is also doing the banding test, we are somewhat further away so no chance of place on offer day so would be waiting list movement dependent.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I actually feel more confident my child will get a place at the school.
Good to luck to everyone with kids sitting tests and assessments.

I'd say you're pretty much guarenteed a place regardless of band. Does anybody have an example of what distance was offered by September in any band?

Sofrano · 21/10/2020 20:51

The bands I know about hardly moved at all this year, so 0.0 something.
I can’t see someone on Patshull road going to waiting list but I suppose it could happen. You’d likely get into Parli and AB from there too.
