Hi all,

We are planning to relocate to Sunbury/Staines area and I would appreciate suggestions on good state schools for my kids, year 10, year 8 and year 3. Also I recently heard about Sunbury Manor from a friend, any thought about the school? Thanks a lot

Thamesmead in Shepperton is really good. Might be hard to move in year 10 when GCSEs have started? Turing House in Teddington and Teddington School near Hampton Wick not far by train

Thanks a lot, will check them out.

Second Thamesmead at Shepperton. My first DD just finished with excellent GCSE results and had a great 5 years. There is no 6th form. It's over subscribed though.

There are two church schools in Sunbury. St Paul's is catholic, very good results and good local reputation. Bishop Wand is CofE, also good.

Sunbury Manors results are very average. Head has a good rep locally. Very inclusive school.

If you are moving to Sunbury or Staines, you educate them locally unless going private.

The main schools for Staines are The Magna Carta School and Matthew Arnold School. TMCS has a slightly better reputation at the moment. There are plenty of primary schools which fall in and out of favour.

Hi mums,
just following on this topic I'd like to ask info about Primary schools in Sunbury area (and surrounding if worth it).
I'm moving to Lower Sunbury soon and after doing a research I've seen that The Springfield is quite good..any experience on this one?
Many thanks

My DDs went to Chennestone. It was a great school and they loved it there. It has a new Head.

Springfield was in special measures a few years ago and has had a lot of focus so is doing well now.

Hawkedale has extended from infant to primary in the last few years so also one to look at.

Lower Sunbury is lovely Smile

Thank you!
What do you mean for "special measures"?

It means that an Ofsted report described significant weakness in some or all areas and that triggers lots of support and monitoring for the school.

Oh Ok, understood. Thank you :)

Slightly biased but Springfueld is a great school my child has loved it there. Every morning I'm amazed that the children are all rushing to get to class.
They are very community centered and offer a lot of support.
Emotional wellbeing of children and families presents as being a priority for the school.

I have heard good things regarding Chennestone and beleucarac (I can never spell it)
I don't think chennestone have wrap around care currently.

Kennington Manor is well ofsted'd but doesn't have the same positive community feel as some of the other schools in the area
