Extra curricular activities

Hi my dd is in year 10 , I’m concerned as she doesn’t have any interests or hobbies and very reluctant to give it a go
I’m worried that it’ll effect her later on when she applies to college or uni

I don't think colleges or universities will care about extra-curricular activities unless they are related to what she wants to study. So playing in an orchestra is probably great for a prospective music student as is voluntary work at a hospital for a potential medic. Playing in your school football team when you want to go on to study English, not so much.

Could she try something like Rangers (all girls) or Explorers (mixed), which are the senior sections of Girlguiding and Scouting respectively. Not so much for the uni credentials, maybe, but more for the general 'having an interest outside school' aspect of her life. That being said, there is a community element to both programmes, so she could pick up some things to put on her CV that way.
