North Somerset and Covid info for parents

Have just heard that Churchill school in North somerset is closing due to Covid.

This is a reliable source. Manager of local electricity sub station with kids in Churchill.

Just to say to any other North Somerset Parents and Carers brace yourselves, if you didn't know that already..

Not sure what the announcement is from central government at 10.30. Don't have a telly so will get it second hand from other sources. Would appreciate it if someone in North Somerset would post info. Can't trust what the government says.

a single teaching bubble of 57 students (out of a school enrollment of well over a thoisabd) is being asked to stay at home and learn remotely for 2 weeks due to one of the kids having a positive test. meanwhile the school will be deep-cleaned.

there is no need for this scare-mongering and paranoia. the actions being taken are exactly right.

it's a shame that those 57 kids get some extra disruption but with luck, if they all comply reasonably, this action will nip the spread in the bud.

bracing ourselves is unnecessary, we all just need to keep calm, stick with social distancing, masks when appropriate, and plenty of handwashing. We will get through this.

However, don't be patronising. I've been 'bracing myself' since March and got through 6 months of home schooling. I am calm but I don't appreciate being told how to feel by presumably a member of school staff.
