Dear Parents, I was wondering whether there is a difference in quality of secondary schools in Enfield & Haringey boroughs as we are seriously considering moving if an opportunity arises.

I don't know anything about any Enfield schools at all but Haringey is a mixed bag. You have the likes of Fortismere and Alexandra Park which are highly desirable, some not so good and some in the middle.

That’s Enfield. You can search for Haringey by ‘local authority’.

I don’t know much about Enfield schools but as someone already said Haringey is mixed. APS is meant to be great and Fortismere is good too. Woodside seems to be getting a good rep recently. I’m in a similar boat to you in that I'm starting to choose a school for my DD and don’t mind moving within the local area so I’d be interested in replies to this.

I've just remembered in Enfield there is Latymer which is a mixed grammar/selective if that's your sort of thing. Kids do attend there from a wide area.

Thank you.

Can't speak for Enfield but Haringey has lots of great state secondaries now. Woodside is now outstanding, Fortismere and APS have terrific reps and there's Highgate Wood and Hornsey School For Girls too.

My friend sends her dd to Enfield County and is really happy with it. I think it has outstanding with ofsted and obviously there is Latymer mentioned up thread. She was also impressed with Kingsmead when she went and I am pretty sure Highlands is a great school. Plus depending on your postcode you can apply to Dame Alice Owens.

All the secondary schools in Haringey are rated either good or outstanding.
