Hi there,
My daughter got her 2nd choice (Hornsey, which is a 10 min walk and then a 20 min bus ride from home) and she is around number 2 on the waiting list of her band for her first choice, Stoke Newington (which is a 10 min walk across the park).
We have been holding out for getting Stokey but wow..we are nearing Sept!! We are willling to move her in the first few months though if its really worth it.. I think the journey is important enough to consider, since you do it 10 times per week.. and i know you can never compare schools so easily...but am collecting opinions, thoughts and preferences if anyone fancies throwing any in the mix!!

Apologies to hijack. DD is about to go into Y6 so we'll be applying in autumn. Am glad I looked at various secondaries last year. Stoke Newington wasn't on our radar as too far but Hornsey will be on our list and likely to get a place. However, we are within Highbury Fields cut off. DP and I visited last year and thought it was ok but didn't like it as much as our 1st choice. Am just wondering if there's a reason you didn't have it above Hornsey as it must be closer for you? Any info gladly received!

oh yes it was reasons quite specific to us, my daughter is a performer and Highbury weren't sounding as supportive to accommodating that as the others so we had that as our 3rd choice. Shame as it looks really good otherwise!

Thank you, there's not much info out there about Highbury Fields compared to a lot of schools. We just need work out ordering of the choices.
I hope your DD is happy whichever school she ends up at. I know of one boy who got his first choice the day before schools went back!
