Bancrofts, Essex - how far do children commute?

Hi, pondering Bancrofts at 11+ and wondering where children commute from. It looks to be 50 mins in rush hour from Chatsworth road/stoke newington borders on 2 buses. Is this too much to expect of an 11 year old? Where do the majority of the kids live?

Tends to be fairly local- although I guess it varies on demand! I’ve known people from Epping and Stratford as well as Woodford/ Chigwell/ Buckhurst Hill area.

DC would be put in a house according to where they live, so closest classmates would be in their tutor group etc for making new friends. My DS has a 40 minute journey to school but that’s just one bus (rural route), they get used to it.

My son is starting there in September. His journey is about 25 mins in tube, plus a mile walk. He’s 16 though so a big different.

A lot of kids come by overground to Chingford and then take a short bus ride to the school.

There are many local children, but they also come from Clapton, Hackney and further out in Essex.
