Hi - we live in Marlow and are thinking about buying a house in Henley. Hoping to live centrally, does anyone know what the likelihood is of getting an in-year year 7 or 8 and year 5/6 (depending if they move mid or end of year)? Ideally Gillotts for year7/8 and Trinity for year 5/6. We moved here from Switzerland 3 years ago and fisn the allocation system a bit confusing.

When you’ve moved, you’ll need to contact the council. They’ll allocate places at your preferred schools if they are available. If there are no spaces, they’ll offer you other schools which may or may not be to your liking.

I imagine both schools are very over subscribed with waiting lists. Which school is your older one currently at? Are they both in Marlow schools? Different counties but obviously very commutable from each other.

It will probably be a case of moving, joining the waiting list, hoping and commuting to Marlow in the mean time.
