Arrangements for Y7 in Sept

Has anyone else not heard anything about start dates/uniform etc for Y7 in September?

Not worried and have completed the registration forms, but am wondering when we might expect to receive some information.

I would definitely have made enquiries before term ended, and would definitely be concerned by not having any contact before the end of term.

I've been periodically checking the website, and there's no mention of Y7 transition/entry, so I sort of think that they haven't got it all worked out yet?

We have had contact - they sent and we completed registration forms eg family info/home-school agreement etc.

My dd's school has published their plan for Sept on their website and contacted parents with the same info, so I think the two probably go hand in hand.

Just wondering if others were in the same boat.

You haven't been to,d the start date? I agree I would contact the schoo, on Monday. There may be someone in the office I guess.

You surely need to be getting uniform sooner rather than later?

Our school website doesn't have any current information on but we have been sent a very detailed letter about what is happening in September re bubbles, start dates for each yr group etc so I would check with the school that you haven't missed an email or not been sent it. I've also noticed they have produced about 5 weekly videos for Yr 7starters to help them with the transition, have your school done nothing? Do you know any other parent to ask if they have been sent anything? I would definitely be concerned if I havent' received anything from them yet.

My son starts Yr 7 in Sept and we have had an information pack including uniform, home school agreement etc and a transition pack of activities for each subject. Videos from the head, head of year and pastoral team. A virtual tour and where to go on the first day. Several email correspondence with updates and a start date.

I agree, you need to contact the school ASAP. Do you know any other parents that you could contact to check you haven’t missed an email?

My kids aren't y7 (they are older) but the school newsletter had info about transition and start date for new y7.

Uniform info is on the school website, but not how to order it.

Do you know any other parents who have children at that school or going?

My ds’s school ( he isn’t year 7) have sent out start and finish times for all years for first day back and continuing forward.

Do you know other parents of children going into YR7? We’ve had a call from form tutor, uniform ordered & picked up (& exchanges date noted), generic whole-school info and a letter specifically about Yr7 transition.

I’d be canvassing other parents & emailing/calling if I were you.
