Hello. I just wondered if anyone had an end of year report? We had a brief summary in Decemberm very generic and no levels etc. Then nothing.

Thank you

Not yet but we had a message school posted them on Monday. Not really sure what will be ok there. We had parents evening in October, nothing since then.
Y7 state school.

xolotltezcatlopoca · 22/07/2020 19:46

We did, we had individual meeting with form tutor, and a report of feed back from each teacher about home learning, so I assume it's nothing like normal years.

Malmontar · 22/07/2020 19:50

@xolotltezcatlopoca is that a state school? Sounds amazing.

Fennelandlovage · 22/07/2020 19:55

Yes had a list of subjects with target and a traffic light system to say if dc is meeting expected target plus brief verbal report for each subject about dc, based mainly on pre lock down. Had a parents evening about 2 weeks before lock down so probably quite similar. State.

xolotltezcatlopoca · 22/07/2020 20:09

Yes, state school. And yes, our school is great.

Y8 at state school here. My DD got a report end of autumn term in Dec which was usual assessment against GSCE grades/targets etc. The end of year report was deliberately changed to reflect the specific challenging circumstances the children had found themselves in (and the difficulties that teachers had in making any formal assessments during virtual schooling). The end of year report - received last week - showed for each subject a mark (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) for the student's engagement with online learning and then a separate mark (using same Bronze to Platinum scale) for their achievement. The school has done an amazing job over lockdown.

State school here - no report since February half-term. What have the teachers been doing?

BrieAndChilli · 22/07/2020 20:42

Mine are year 7and 8 state school.
We’ve just had end of year report. Has a score for each subject for each subject with scores for work during lockdown, conduct pre lockdown and attitide to learning.
We are in wales and they do a global score (so input from each subject and thier work assessed etc to create a base grade that they are likely to achieve across the board at GCSE. It’s based on thier lowest subject attainment)

BrieAndChilli · 22/07/2020 20:43

They did have a report earlier in the year with grades for each subject.

TimeWastingButFun · 22/07/2020 20:43

Yes, state school, report from each teacher with grades.

Noodledoodledoo · 22/07/2020 21:08

State teacher here, we have given all years a report based on info we had up to March, with a comment about online learning engagement.

Its hard to assess accurately as we have no idea who is doing the work - I know I have some students who I am suspicious of their output, does not tie in with classwork seen in past 18 months. We have been asked to be conservative with levels given if we have any doubts.

My own childrens school sent a report in March and thats all.

PerspicaciaTick · 22/07/2020 21:11

Yes we have. No grades given but positive feedback and constructive ideas from every subject teacher on areas for improvement. The school have said this is to celebrate the children's hard work over lockdown, to give the pupils a boost over the summer and start to focus them on the return to school in September.

PerspicaciaTick · 22/07/2020 21:12

Meant to add that pupils have had a full timetable of lessons and all work has been reviewed by teachers so there is something to base the report upon

Deardonkey · 22/07/2020 21:14

I have a yr7 and we haven’t received a report or been told there is one coming. His school have been really disappointing throughout the lockdown.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 22/07/2020 21:20

Ds 2 has just finished year 7 in a state school.

We had his full report at the end of term - just a couple of weeks later than scheduled. It gave a years a report based on the work and levels that he’d achieved up to March, with comments about his online learning work.

We should have had a parents evening just after lockdown but obviously that didn’t happen. We did have a face to face with his form tutor towards the end of the autumn term with summaries from each teacher so I think they’ve done a great job.

SJaneS48 · 29/07/2020 18:36

Year 7 DD and no, no end of year report but we did get a report in June which was really just a grading of where DD was against expectation. In the last week we’ve had numerous emails about arrangements for September as well as the winners of their school awards - DD got a Gold award, I’ve absolutely no idea what criteria they used for this whatsoever and what it’s based on & neither does DD!

Malbecfan · 30/07/2020 19:47

State school teacher here. I had completed my reports before lockdown for the spring term. I was then asked to report on engagement with digital learning in mid-May. I had to fill in grades for learning in the summer term and for my y7 tutor group write comments on how they had fared since lockdown. Most have done really well; a couple have had issues I'm aware of, one or two have been lazy little sods. All noted and couched in appropriate terms.

domesticslattern · 30/07/2020 19:50

Nothing here and much of the lockdown learning wasn't marked at all. Really disappointed.
This is an Ofsted outstanding school Hmm

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/07/2020 12:28

@domesticslattern same here.

Hersetta427 · 31/07/2020 14:41

Y8 state school. We had a parents evening in February with the report issued a week before. Just before the end of the summer term we got a tracking report showing where she is against her GCSE targets. Nothing formal about attitude/engagement to online learning, although I know she was very engaged and made the end of year honour roll so don't need any further validation.
