How many of you have access to your child’s Microsoft Team account?

I don’t and it causes an unholy amount of stress.

Was talking to somebody who does and life seems so much simpler. They can see the work that needs to be done and can monitor things. They were apparently given the details to get in by their child’s school. Our school says they can’t. Confused

So what is the situation with everybody else?

The Show My Homework platform has a parent carer login - you can see everything set and whether your child has accessed it.

We don’t have access to DS teams. I have to hover over his shoulder and point out the red dots that need attention. PITA

I log-in for DS as he has SN so needs me to do everything for him but no access to other childs. We have no video / no mics as normal. Another parent (Dad) also obviously has access as they managed to message the whole year group by mistake though presumably they got that off the child.

We have SHMW parent logins which show if a child has submitted the work to school, I have DS's child login and manage that - that allows me to submit his work and reply to messages from teachers as he won't communicate but will let me type replies for him.

Our school uses Google Classroom. There are two logins - the child has a full access log in. The parent gets a weekly summary of work set. Many parents just use the child's log ins, so they can see everything.

I often reply to teachers 'as' DD2. She's very shy and has ASD. She wants to be polite but finds it very hard to interact. So I'll type 'thank you 😊' to teacher comments, then talk them through with DD2. DD3 joins the school in September and I'm sure that I'll do absolutely nothing with her log in - she's very independent.

The school didn't give it to me but I just got it from my ds's account, can't quite remember how. I don't think under-15s have the right to digital privacy and frankly if I didn't god knows how much work etc would have gone undone.

The school haven't given my logins either. Are your children primary or secondary?

netflixismysidehustle · 20/07/2020 16:27

Obviously secondary (jjust clocked forum name)

DD downloaded Teams App on my phone without me even asking! My phone dings every time she receives some work!

Ds is hopeless at remembering user IDs and passwords so he tells me them anyway.

I go in and check calendars so I can remind him when to join sessions, and also to upload work. If I didn’t, he’d be forever missing things. He’s 12
