Indie school advantages

Wondering whether some of the advantages traditionally offered by independent schools eg contacts, university entrance know-how etc. will lessen with the move towards offering opportunities to state school children , particularly with the educational differences highlighted by the COVID pandemic ?

No, I don’t think so. Unless there is a revolution, people who go to the high profile schools like Elton etc will still develop more contacts and advantages.

Incidentally, my dd goes to an independent school in London - but the reason is nothing to do with contacts or advantages - but more so to do with wanting an environment that is quite relaxed and not strict but without bullying or disruption in class.

Thanks for responding notcontent.

I should have said 'indirect advantages'. Considering top independent eg Dulwich College or Kent grammar

Wonder whether a grammar has the best of both worlds? State, but selective and (assuming) children wanting to learn
