OCR MEI Maths Alevel

How does this compare with other boards or are they all very similar?

Dd choosing between 2 different boards and slightly worried as to how they compare.

Tried looking online and it seems all boards cover the same but test differently. OCR Mei has maths comprehension whatever that is,is that correct? What is maths comprehension?

Are they all regarded the same for unis?

OCR MEI is considerably harder than other A level boards. My DD did it at Westminster School. I teach Edexcel A level Maths and the difference between the 2 is quite startling.

I think if you are going for Oxbridge entrance then they may take it into account but otherwise I rather doubt it. Mainly it is grades that are looked at which is why schools generally choose the ‘easier’ exam boards.

Oh great. It’s just a normal 6th form. Wonder why they’ve gone for a harder option.
